BUY OUR MUSIC
Wantok Musik is proud to share with you our digital re-issues of West Papuan stringband, Eyuser’s album Didedikasikan. This rare cassette work was dedicated to the late Arnold Ap, who was an important West Papuan cultural leader, anthropologist and musician who was executed by the Indonesian military special forces, Kopassus in 1984.
This reissue is a dedication to long time Wantok collaborator, Ferry Marisan who sadly passed away last year. Ferry was the founding member of Eyuser and a talented musician as well as a human rights advocate. He was the lead human rights investigator of the 1998 Biak massacre and worked for Elsham Papua. He was a driving creative force on the We Have Come To Testify Project as well as being the singer and writer on the Black Paradise release Spirit of Mambesak.
By re-releasing this album, we hope Ferry’s strong and important legacy will continue and that it helps to bring awareness to the work of these two men and promote the fight for West Papuan independence.
